Biography

I’m a Melbourne based commercial photographer and filmmaker with a deep focus on people and stories that feel real. My work is grounded in a documentary approach, not just in style but in spirit, where emotion, honesty and collaboration are at the heart of everything I do.

My journey into photography began while living in Scotland, when my flatmate created a long exposure image of a ferris wheel. I’d never seen photography used so creatively before. That moment shifted my perspective. I realised photography could be a medium for imagination, emotion and narrative work.

Since then, I’ve spent my career refining how I see, what I notice and what draws my interest, and that always comes back to people. I love working with people. There’s an unpredictability and energy that comes with collaboration, and I learn something new every time I step behind the lens. Whether I’m shooting a portrait, directing a branded film or filming a documentary short, I aim to create images that connect emotionally, visually and honestly.

Clients often tell me I’m easy to work with, calm, collaborative and intuitive. I believe the best creative outcomes come from trust and clarity, so I work closely with clients and agencies to shape a clear vision from the start. I tailor each crew to the project’s needs and budget, and I stay hands-on throughout, from directing and shooting to editing and grading.

To me, authenticity means honing in on a single emotion, then building the visual world around it with care. Simplicity, clarity and emotional truth always come first. My goal is to craft images that don’t just look great, they feel right.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m at home in Melbourne with my partner and children, with an appreciation for bespoke woodwork and the occasional quiet single malt. That grounding keeps me focused on what matters – creating work that’s honest, thoughtful, and built to last.
