Cesar Salmeron-Hoving ACS

Born in Amsterdam, schooled in Germany, and now based in Melbourne’s wild west, Cesar is a cinematographer with a reel full of work and a shelf stacked with shiny things from commercial gigs. He knows exactly where to throw the light — and when to switch it off and let the shadows do the talking.

Raised multilingual in a ‘90s Euro household, Cesar chinwags between English, Dutch, German, and Spanish — making him a sought-after asset on sets both local and international. He’s got plenty of broadcast directing credits, but leading the camera department is where it’s at for him.

His work spans polished TVCs, grungy music vids, raw docos, and high-end TV content. He doesn’t play favourites — story’s king, and he’s all in.

When he’s not chasing golden hour or crafting ads, he’s shooting BMX clips with his 8 year old boy that rival Red Bull reels.

You’ll usually find him at a PPM with a plate of chilli dumplings, rocking cargo shorts year-round, and fiercely defending the superiority of mayo over aioli.
