Yvonne Savage is one of Sydney’s leading Hair and Make-up Stylists. She has extensive experience in film, theatre and photographic work both in Australia and England. Her passion for her craft gives her the ability to design and create all styles, from historically accurate period dramas to high fashion or creating the most beautiful bride. Yvonne’s qualifications are world class. Starting in London, she trained at the London College of Fashion where she qualified as a hairstylist and make-up artist. She then expanded her skills learning all aspects of historic hairstyling and wig making. He career since then has been a successful mix of film, show-business, advertising and editorial. Starting in the West End as Wig Mistress designing for numerous musicals and shows, Yvonne moved to Australia in 1984 and commenced work in the local film industry. When working on The Delinquents Yvonne met Kylie Minogue, a relationship that would continue for the next three years, as Yvonne fulfilled the role of Kylie’s personal assistant and stylist for numerous music clips and tours. Yvonne now combines working on films such as Moulin Rouge, Australia and recently Mao’s Last Dancer with her own successful hair and make-up styling business for weddings and corporate events. A recent highlight for Yvonne was styling Nicole Kidman for the cover of US Vogue with photographer Annie Leibovitz. She is also a qualified trainer and teaches her skills in both make-up colleges and ‘one on one’ private sessions.
