After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications (Major in Film and Television) at Edith Cowan University and upon moving to Melbourne Simon spent almost five years at Fox Footy, where he honed his skills as a producer, shooter and editor working across various long form documentaries and short form television projects. Post Fox, Simon found himself in Perth as a TVC director for Solo Films, before continuing his studies at the WA Screen Academy where he obtained his Masters in Communication, specialising in direction and field production.
From there Simon has flourished in his professional development in the network television industry, which has also included the development of several successful short films over the last five years. Sorrento, a finalist at both the Daytona Beach Film Festival in the US and Melbourne Queer Film Festival Shorts Competition. Pigskin an indigenous short nominated for ‘Best Film’ at the WA Screen Awards and selected to screen at the Dungog Film Festival, and most recently he has just completed his greatest challenge yet the independent feature film Eddy & Viv, his feature film directorial debut which has just won the award for “Best Narrative Feature” at the 2015 Santa Monica Independent Film Festival (SaMo INDIE).
